Cinderella is a special chapter of Gakuen Babysitters in Volume 3 that follows after Chapter 15.

Synopsis[]

With the help of the Drama Club, the Babysitting Club performs a retelling of the classic story Cinderella.

Long Summary[]

Saikawa, the narrator, introduces Inomata and Hayato as the wicked stepsisters, Usaida as the wicked stepmother, and Kotaro as Cinderella. He then introduces all six of the children as Cinderella. Inomata angrily asks why there are six different Cinderellas, and the children all immediately cry. Usaida sarcastically comments that Inomata is so enthusiastic about her role that she immediately bullies the Cinderellas. Inomata starts to cry in anger, so Usaida quickly takes out an invitation to the ball. He tells the children that if they clean up, they can come along too. Kotaro is the most eager to clean up properly since Ryuu is playing the part of the prince.

At the castle, the chairwoman, who is playing the queen, urges Ryuu to hurry up and prepare for the ball to find a bride. Ryuu awkwardly adjusts his outfit, embarrassed that he even has to wear tights. He also tells the chairwoman that it is too early for him to think about marriage, but the chairwoman scolds him, saying that he is already a full adult at age 16 and cannot act spoiled. He must find a partner and take care of the country independently.

Back at the mansion, Usaida, Hayato, and Inomata are all dressed to attend the ball. The children tearily look up at Usaida, but he does not allow them to come along. Inomata asks if he is really going to make them stay behind, but Hayato points out that the children are really just faking their sadness. Surely enough, the children are all playing together as if they have forgotten about the ball. However, Kotaro glumly sits on the side, depressed that he cannot see his brother. Taka sees that Kotaro is depressed and immediately changes his clothes, and the other children follow suit. Taka announces himself as a wizard, Kirin holds up a pumpkin, Takuma and Kazuma are mice, and Midori holds up a wand. The children decide to use magic to send Kotaro to the ball, and with a wave of Midori's wand, Kotaro is wearing a dress and has been transported to the ball in a pumpkin carriage.

Yayoi, the witch, instructs Kotaro to go see the prince but warns him that the magic will be undone by midnight. The members of the Drama Club try to keep the other children under control as they prepare the other stage props. The children all come out in dresses, and Kotaro hugs Ryuu. At midnight, Ryuu tucks the children into bed. The chairwoman recalls that Cinderella is supposed to drop her shoe and leave at midnight, but Ryuu sees that it is hard to keep the children up until midnight. He asks the chairwoman to live longer since he did not find a bride. The chairwoman argues that she would have even if he had not reminded her to. After that, the prince became the country's babysitter, and they all lived happily ever after.
